- Information
Punto y Banco is a variation of the traditional Baccarat.
"Punto" means "Player", while "Banco" means "Bank", in reference to the two principal bets of the game.
The object of the game is to bet on the hand (either "Punto" or "Banco") that you think will have a total of, or closest to, 9. Or to bet that both "Punto" and "Banco" hands will have the same total (a "tie" or "stand off").
A simple yet very addictive game. |
- Rules
This game is known as "Baccarat".
The value of the cards is their nominal value except for the picture cards (J,Q,K) and card 10 which all have a zero value. You can bet on either Player or Banker. The winning score is the one closest to 9 points.
The dealer draws the first four cards and place them in the following order: the first one to Player, the second one to Banker, the third one marked with a P and the fourth one with an B.
If Player or Banker scores 8 or 9 points with the first two cards, no more cards are drawn and the winner is who scored 8 or 9 points; in the event of a tie (i.e. if Player and Banker both scored 8 or 9 points) the deal is considered void (no winner, no loser).
If neither player nor dealer scores 8 or 9 points with the first two cards the game goes on.
If the chance Player totalled between 0 and 5 points (inclusive) with the first two cards it has the right to draw a third card; if the total is between 6 and 7 it cannot draw a third card.
If the chance Banker totalled 0,1 or 2 points it has the right to draw a third card.
If the chance Banker totalled 7 it cannot draw a third card.
In all the other cases the following table applies:

T = «Draw», it has the right to draw the third card. R = «Stand», it cannot draw the third card.
In the event of a tie the draw is considered void. All the winning bets played on Player are paid level (1:1); all the winning bets played on Banker are paid at 95% of the stake ( 19:20 ).
There is also the chance to play on the tie score playing Egalité; in this case the winnings are paid 8:1; to play the chance Egalité you must have played P or B. |
